Supporting Needs During Conflict
During conflict 8% of injuries affect eyes and vision and require emergency surgery to restore and prevent permanent vision loss. Other health issues such as diabetes that lead to vision loss are also exacerbated during conflict with limited access to medications.

Collaborating with Dr. Igor Aleshchenko, head of the Bioimplant State Enterprise, operating an eye bank since 2013 in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine. His current request is for corneal allografts for the cities of Odessa at Filatov Institute and the city of Dnipro where ophthalmologists are currently located with minimal conflict.
